Make it safer to speak.
Listen without preparing a defense. Invite disagreement, respond fairly to mistakes, and make commitments you can keep. Examine whose voice is missing when decisions affect people’s work.
Corporate humanitarian journeys
For senior and executive leaders ready to connect a change of heart with the daily responsibility of leadership.
Hope Sojourns guides corporate teams into practical service alongside trusted local partners. Through encounters, listening, and honest reflection, leaders explore how the hope, resilience, and heart transformation of people they meet can transform their own hearts—and their relationships at work.
Heart transformation and leadership
An encounter may challenge the distance between the values we profess and the decisions we make. The work continues when leaders bring that awareness into everyday relationships.
Listen without preparing a defense. Invite disagreement, respond fairly to mistakes, and make commitments you can keep. Examine whose voice is missing when decisions affect people’s work.
Look beyond the transaction. Ask better questions, communicate limitations honestly, and take responsibility when the organization falls short. Treat a client’s vulnerability with care.
Bring curiosity into conflict. Surface tradeoffs, honor colleagues’ contributions, and address concerns directly. Work across functions with a shared responsibility for the people affected.
Led with integrity
Local partners identify useful work, guide service, and help evaluate the experience. Their communities have knowledge, gifts, and leadership to contribute. Participants arrive as guests who can offer help and also receive insight.
People decide whether to share their stories, participate in a conversation, or be photographed. We never ask someone to perform hardship or personal transformation for a visiting group. Assistance does not depend on sharing a story, a photograph, or a belief.
Before, during, and after
We shape the experience through a planning conversation with your organization and local hosts. Dates, destination, service activities, facilitation, and costs are confirmed together.
Identify who is coming, what needs to change at work, and how the team will listen and serve responsibly. Establish a personal behavior baseline and agree on privacy and participation expectations.
Contribute to useful work under local leadership. Take time to notice assumptions, hear stories freely shared, and consider what compassion and integrity require of you.
Choose specific actions for staff, clients, and peers. Use the curriculum’s 30-, 60-, and 90-day review plan to seek feedback, examine decisions, and adjust your practice.
The curriculum
A facilitated curriculum for senior and executive leaders, connecting heart transformation with observable changes in listening, trust, ethical judgment, and accountability.
Eight modules span preparation, service, and the return to work. Each includes a leadership objective, a guided exercise, reflection questions, and a practical output. The program ends with a personal 90-day practice plan.
