Every placement is developed individually. These steps help us protect the learning experience, serve the ministry well, and prepare you for the realities of living and working in a new setting.

Hope Sojourns and the ministry learn more about you while you learn about the role, setting, and expectations.
If academic credit is involved, your college or university determines eligibility, assignments, required hours, and grading.
We meet before departure to cover your learning plan, cultural humility, ethical service, travel, safety, and communication.
When included in your placement plan, a Hope Sojourns leader travels with you to help you get situated and connected locally.
Your ministry supervisor guides the daily work. Hope Sojourns meets with you weekly and stays connected with your school when appropriate.

Costs vary by destination, duration, ministry support, and travel. Before you commit, Hope Sojourns will provide a written placement plan and estimated budget.
